A fresh start for the
skin you're in.

Your skin has its own story. Explore microneedling for concerns like acne scars and uneven texture, with personalized guidance and a plan that gives progress time to develop.

SKINPEN® MICRONEEDLING

Skin renewal.
At your own pace.

Acne scars and changes in skin texture can leave you wondering where to start. We’ll begin with what you’re noticing, what you’ve tried, and what you’d like to improve—then help you understand your options.

SkinPen uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries that trigger the skin’s repair response and collagen production. Your provider will assess whether microneedling is appropriate for your concerns and explain the changes you can realistically expect.

Progress develops over time, and your plan may include a series of visits. We’ll discuss treatment spacing, recovery, aftercare, and cost before you decide, so you know what the process involves from the start.

Your questions, welcome here.

What concerns can SkinPen help address?

SkinPen is FDA-cleared to improve facial acne scars in adults 22 and older across all skin types, and neck wrinkles in adults 22 and older with certain skin types (Fitzpatrick II–IV). If texture, pores, or other concerns brought you here, your provider can explain the evidence, limitations, and whether treatment is appropriate.

How does microneedling work?

Fine needles make controlled punctures in the skin, prompting a repair response and collagen production. Changes develop gradually as the skin remodels. Treatment can improve appearance, but it does not erase every scar or guarantee a particular result.

What does the treatment feel like?

A topical numbing medication is commonly used to reduce discomfort. You may still feel pressure, vibration, or a scratching sensation. Tell your provider about numbing-product allergies and your comfort concerns before treatment begins.

How much downtime should I plan for?

Allow several days for visible recovery. Redness, tightness, dryness, mild swelling, or peeling may occur; some reactions can last up to a week. Your provider will explain what is expected for your treatment and when to contact the team.

When will I see results, and will I need a series?

You may notice improvement within weeks, with fuller results developing over several months. A series may be recommended, particularly for acne scars. We’ll discuss the number and spacing of visits based on your assessment and response.

When can I wear makeup and restart my skincare?

Follow the aftercare schedule your provider gives you. Ask specifically when to resume makeup, retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other active products. Use only the recommended post-treatment products while your skin recovers, and follow instructions for sun protection and exercise.

How far ahead should I plan before an important event?

Share your event date before scheduling. Plan in weeks rather than days so there is time for recovery; if your goals call for a series, start the conversation months ahead. Your provider can recommend timing based on your skin and previous treatment experience.

Can I combine SkinPen with wrinkle relaxers, filler, or lasers?

Let your provider coordinate the order and spacing before booking treatments close together. Tell us about recent and upcoming procedures, including appointments elsewhere. We’ll explain how SkinPen could fit into your overall plan.

Is SkinPen right for every skin type?

Skin tone alone does not determine suitability. Your provider will assess the treatment area, skin condition, and health history. Mention active breakouts or infections, cold sores, unusual scarring, recent isotretinoin use, medications, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Treatment may need to be postponed or a different approach recommended.

What risks should I know about?

Along with temporary redness and irritation, risks include infection, pigment changes, cold-sore reactivation, and scarring. Your provider will review the risks before treatment. Contact the team promptly for worsening pain, spreading redness, drainage, fever, or other unexpected symptoms.

Can we plan treatments around my budget?

Yes—tell us your priorities and budget at your consultation. We’ll explain the cost per visit and the anticipated investment if a series is recommended. You can ask about current specials and discuss a realistic schedule before committing.
